Revelation 1:3 ” Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.”

The second coming of the Messiah is being foretold. The Apostle John wants everyone to know that the time is close, that there is coming a critical, decisive, and significant opportunity to take this to heart, and change the course of our lives. It’s time to live before the face of God.

Isaiah 35:8 ” And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness.”

A prophet’s lifestyle must be that of holiness – a life of prayer, obedience, and integrity. In leading this life of consecration, they can then proclaim the message of holiness, that we may follow. Sanctification… it’s not a word you hear batted around much in this modern-day world…but it’s something essential in the process of making us holy. By allowing the Holy Spirit to work in our lives, our actions and behaviors will be consecrated unto God. To be sanctified is to be set apart by the Lord…it’s not a one time happening, but rather a life-long journey down the highway called holiness.

Isaiah 40:3 “A voice of one calling in the desert prepare the way for the Lord…”

Modern-day prophets have a two-fold mission to the world. The first is to prepare the people in these the last days. They are God’s voice in the wilderness of this sinful world – calling out to our generation…speaking forth the Lord’s message to get ready…to set one’s house and life in order, for the time is short. Secondly, they are God’s messenger, encouraging all Believers to be resolved in their worship of God alone…staying the course…resisting evil, and focusing on Him only.

Jeremiah 1:9 ” Then the Lord reached out His hand and touched my mouth and said to me, ‘Now, I have put My words in your mouth.’ “

The Lord releases His voice into the earth through His prophets…His very nature and attributes being made known to all. God’s voice roars like the Lion of the Tribe of Judah over the earth – bringing terror to the enemy camp, and blessings to His children. The lies of the devil are rendered null and void when God’s truth is revealed…and the captives are set free from the deceptions that have held them prisoner for so long.

Jeremiah 1:6 ” ‘Ah, Sovereign Lord,’ I said, ‘ I do not know how to speak; I am only a child.’ “

Authentic humility is the primary mark of a true prophet. They are not proud or haughty in their role for the Lord. Sadly, there are times when a person takes the title of prophet, but the fruit of their life doesn’t show it. Our true identity should be in Christ Jesus alone, and not based on any title. We should never seek after titles, but rather seek first that intimate relationship with the Lord. For a God-called prophet’s true mission is to cause the hearts of men to come into a closer relationship with Christ Jesus…nothing more…pure and simple.

Matthew 7: 15 ” Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”

Prophets are not self-appointed. A true prophet is called of God even before birth. Many times, when someone claims the title of prophet, it’s with their own agenda, not God’s. The Apostle Paul warned the leaders of the early Church to watch over the flock for false prophets who would draw the Believer astray with perverse things and distorted truth. (Acts 20:30)

Isaiah 6: 8 ” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘ Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’ “

To be a prophet is a calling…to minister in prophecy is a gift. A wonderful gift that God bestows on a chosen group of Believers to guide and encourage the flock. When the Lord calls you…you receive your identity. When you receive your gifting…you receive your ability. And when you receive the anointing…you receive your purpose.

Romans 14:1 ” Accept him whose faith is weak without passing judgment on disputable matters.”

Romans 14:1 " Accept him whose faith is weak without passing judgment on disputable matters.".

Romans 14:1 ” Accept him whose faith is weak without passing judgment on disputable matters.”

Have consideration for the new Christian. Their belief in Jesus is brand new…their spiritual journey with Him just beginning. So when things arise…things that are questionable in conduct and controversial within the body of Believers, the Lord wants us not to judge…but rather, those who are spiritually strong should come along side and bear with the failings of the weak.( Romans 15:1) For only God can judge…only He can convict the conscience. And besides, you too were once a brand new baby Christian.

Luke 21:27 ” At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.”

Look up! Jesus is coming! Gaze up at the clouds, for His return will be riding those very clouds back here to earth. All majesty and power will fill the sky as He comes to rule and reign this planet. Look up at the clouds…Jesus is coming!
