Isaiah 47:8 ” Now then, listen, you wanton creature, lounging in your security and saying to yourself, ‘I am, and there is none besides me.’ “

When our universe revolves around us and our selfish desires for abundance and sensual things… with no regard for other people’s feelings, rights, or safety…we have become the same wanton creature God warns of here. For anytime we trust in ourselves rather than the Lord or bask in self-gratifying glory, we’re putting ourselves up on the throne of our heart. And what dwells in our heart will sooner or later play out in our behavior. God makes it very clear, “There is none besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other.” (Isaiah 45:6)
