When I read this quote from Charles Spurgeon this morning , I had to laugh out loud! He wrote, “If any man thinks ill of you, do not be angry with him; for you are worse than he thinks you to be.” That is so true! Just as the answer to the rhetorical question posed by this Proverb is a resounding, “No one is pure & clean!” (Isaiah 64:6) We were sinful the moment we took our first breath, for we’re all born with a inherent sin nature… without a trace of innocence. But back to Spurgeon’s quote…When someone thinks badly of you, let them. For there’s one thing they can’t do and that’s read your mind…for if they could, they’d really think badly of you, and with just cause.
