The light of Jesus has come into the world…but men love darkness, (John 3:19-20). They resist God, not recognizing or acknowledging His majesty and the gift of salvation He offers. He calls all of us to be children of light…for the fruit of light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth. (Eph. 5:8-14).

Jeremiah 31:3 ” The Lord appeared to us in the past saying: ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.’ “
Someone you know may be far from God. Maybe you’ve been praying for them for a long time and haven’t seen anything positive. Don’t give up! The Lord is still at work – drawing that person with cords of kindness and ties of love…ever wooing them towards salvation. For God takes great delight in them…calling them beloved of Him. Keep praying!
Isaiah 50:10 ” Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of His servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.”
Your life style is very telling. If you’re constantly compromising and going along with the crowd, even if you know better, you need to re-examine where your trust lies. Who are you placing your confidence in…your friends or God?
II Thessalonians 2:6-7 ” And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one Who now holds it back will continue to do so till He is taken out of the way.”
The Holy Spirit is the restraining force in this world…holding back the power of lawlessness and the devil. He also is impeding the power of the many Antichrists existing now here on earth…for it says in I John 2:18, “Even now many (Antichrists) have come.” This verse goes on to say that some day the Holy Spirit will be” taken out of the way”. He will not actually depart…just remove His restraining power from earth.
I Corinthians 4:20 ” For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.”
You can tell someone about God. You can share what He’s done in your life, and how you’ve been changed. But words are empty until the Holy Spirit reveals to that person the true nature and reality of the might and authority of God .
Isaiah 54:10 ” ‘Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed,’ says the Lord , Who has compassion on you.”
With out warning, stressful and frightening things happen. We’re pushed along by the tidal wave of raw emotions…trying simply to survive the moment. But this verse wants us to know that regardless of the circumstances, God is still there…His kindness, and mercy will never abandon us.
II Thessalonians 1:11 “…we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of His calling, and that by His power He may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith.”
When God calls you to something, His plan and purpose for you has been already laid out. That good purpose and plan then shapes and effects you from the inside out…allowing you to think and act differently – having right desires and good intentions.
Joshua 23:14 ” You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.”
The Lord is faithful to all His promises…not just some…not just to the ones He wants to keep. No, God cannot go back on His promises to you. His Word is eternal…His covenant is forever. His precious promises to you will never fall short…they will never be in vain.
Matthew 18: 2-4 ” He called a little child and had him stand among them. And He said: ‘I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.’ “
This story actually started earlier as Jesus and the Disciples were traveling. An argument had ensued among the Disciples of just who was the greatest. So now Jesus was calling them out on it and extinguishing any ego that was still lingering by having a little boy stand among them as an example of how He wanted them to behave. Not as proud, honor-seeking men, but as meek, gentle, giving children.
Psalm 145:3 ” Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom.”
Paul’s letter to the Romans tried to explain our incomprehension of God’s greatness when he said, “Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!” (Romans 11:33) As humans, we cannot start to understand or ever figure out just how wonders and miracles happen…for the Lord’s power is truly unfathomable.
