The Greek word for double-minded is very interesting. The double-minded person not only believes in God and that all His promises are true…but he also depends on himself and what he can accomplish alone – without God. Such a person is spiritually unstable and prone to deceitfulness and deception.

II Corinthians 10: 17-18 ” But, let him who boasts boast in the Lord. For, it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.”
The longevity of a ministry has little to do with administrative guidance, good funding, or broad appeal. If you look at the world-wide ministries that have endured for decades, you see humble men and women that don’t call attention to themselves, but rather continually point the way to the Cross as sinners saved by grace.
I Corinthians 2:7 ” No, we speak of God’s secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.”
The indwelling Holy Spirit reveals to all Believers the sacred mysteries and hidden truths of God’s own revelations. We are then privy to visions, prophesies, and insights that the world can never be part of. The Lord’s glories teachings and principles all afforded to us as Believers, by way of the Holy Spirit.
Deuteronomy 32:4 ” He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God Who does no wrong, upright and just is He.”
He is the foundation you can build your life on. He is fair and impartial with all His dealings. Everything He does is complete and flawless from beginning to end. He will never be anything but totally honest with you. Could you then put your trust in such a God? I urge you today to give Him a chance …you will not be sorry.
Ezekiel 13:5 ” You have not gone up to the breaks in the wall to repair it for the house of Israel so that it will stand firm in the battle on the day of the Lord.”
How can the Church stand firm if it’s divided? How can Believers work together as one if there are divisions? It won’t happen…and Satan knows that all too well. If he can use pride and egos to stop the work of the Lord he’ll do it. Are we willing as Believers to change the discord and to become as it talks about in Isaiah 58:12. “…you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls.”
II Peter 3:18 ” But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
But grow in grace and knowledge…what does that exactly mean to you? Is your life a shining example of Christ’s love within? Do you exhibit the same virtues and excellence you have on Sunday at Church as in the Board Room on Monday? Does the holiness you strive for follow you everywhere, or just to certain places? Growing in grace and knowledge of our Lord is a process…hopefully, an ongoing, ever-growing process…so that when people look at you…they just see Jesus.
Deuteronomy 32:3 ” I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!”
Declare the majesty and strength of the Lord Almighty. Let those around you today know just how great your God is. Don’t be afraid to share what He has done in your life. For elsewhere in Deuteronomy it proclaims, ” O Sovereign Lord, You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do the deeds and mighty works You do?”
Malachi 3:2 ” But who can endure the day of His coming? Who can stand when He appears? For He will be like a refiner’s fire or a launder’s soap.”
Evil will no longer be able to prevail here on earth on the great and dreadful day of the Lord. All wickedness and darkness will be purged from His sight as the Lord comes in His Father’s glory. In the blink of an eye, all will be purified and cleansed.
I Samuel 17: 23-24 ” Goliath, the Philistine champion from Gath, stepped out from his lines and shouted his usual defiance, and David heard it. When the Israelites saw the man, they all ran from him in great fear.”
Goliath had been taunting the Israelites troops for 40 days. What they saw as fearful and terrifying…David saw as blasphemous against his God. When facing your Goliath, what vision do you see…yours or God’s? For in I Samuel 17:45, David replied to Goliath, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.”
Revelation 3:3 ” Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.”
In other words…be ready! Don’t think that maybe next year you’ll get serious about this God thing…the time is now! Be ready today, because you may not have tomorrow. Wake up! Jesus and the eternal gift of salvation is waiting.
