The Law of the Lord is faultless and complete. And by walking in it, we are not only infused with new life within, but we gain insight and perception to do what is right in our daily walk.
I Peter 5: 8-9 ” Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, stand firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”
The devil isn’t very resourceful, he likes to use the same tactics over and over again for everyone…but he makes us think that we’re the only one suffering. And this in a nut shell, is how he isolates us from others and help. The devil will whisper in our ear that whatever is happening in our life – whether it be a temptation, or illness, or mental issue – is so awful that we can’t possible tell anyone about it. So we clam up and self-isolate, afraid to share our “horrible” secret with anyone. But by doing so, the devil has us exactly where he wants us…alone and hurting. This is where the brotherhood/sisterhood of Believers come in…we are all in this thing called life together…a community of Believers that all share the same struggles and problems. For if you are brave enough to share this “terrible” secret with a trusted person…you’ll soon discover that this secret isn’t unique at all. Don’t allow the devil to isolate you from others who can come up along side to pray, share their own struggles, and encourage you in yours.
Psalm 36:5 ” Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the skies.”
Two years ago today, I embarked on a journey with God. And over these months and years He has taken the small pittance I offer, and has multiplied it like the loaves and fishes. God has turned 1 Devotional into 664 posts. He has taken these devotionals around the world to 76 countries who are now reading His Word daily. But most of all He has been faithful, for when I started, I had no idea what I was doing…but the Lord was there every step of the way…and still is today. I would like to thank each one of you who take the time to read Safetypinlove. Thank you for your support and kind remarks. I am truly humbled and honored to be used of God. Pam
I Peter 3:8 ” Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.”
Just think what the world would be like if we all lived by this scripture. Imagine if everyone’s goal was to live a life full of humility, modesty and love for one another. It would take a ground-swell movement, with each individual determining to be a catalyst for change…would you be that person?
I Peter 3:7 ” Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.”
There’s nothing more endearing to a woman than to feel she’s very special in the eyes her husband. This specialness can be verbalized in private and shown in public through a husband’s conduct and attitude towards her in front of others.
I Peter 3:4 ” Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”
You probably know one…you may be one. That woman with an inner beauty that defies age and time…someone with an incorruptible presence that will never change…a sweet spirit that glows from the inside out. These women point out the Way to the younger generation…walking the walk, and talking the talk, with a strength and confidence that can only called beautiful.
I Peter 2:17 ” Show proper respect to everyone; love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king.”
Give what is fitting to all people…whether it’s brotherly love, respect, honor, or reverence. For no matter who we are, where we come from, our social status, or place in life…we all deserve respect…one to another.
Proverbs 18:7 ” A fool’s mouth is his undoing, and his lips are a snare to his soul.”
The local school district had just completed remodeling classrooms, when someone broke in and totally destroyed them. The rooms were being setup for special needs children, and all the supplies, toys, and equipment were ruined…even to the walls and carpet devastated by paint, fire extinguisher foam and glass shards from the fluorescent lights. The police had no immediate leads, but the school offered a $500 reward, and they didn’t have to wait long before young people were being named. Vandalizing wasn’t thrill enough…they had to video their destruction and post it online.
II Corinthians 4:7 ” But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not us.”
This mere mortal shell of ours is housing something miraculous…something beyond measure and human scope…it’s the power of the Almighty God within. His divine, and glorious authority dwelling there. Daily working… changing us from the inside out.
Psalm 86: 6-7 ” Hear my prayer, O Lord; In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me.”
Psalm 86 holds a very precious place in my heart…for during one of the very lowest points in my life, I would recite the entire Psalm out loud every morning. Partly as a supplication to God, and partly as a reminder to me that the Lord not only heard my prayers and cries for help, but that He would deliver me…and He did.
