II Corinthians 12:9 ” But He said to me, ‘ My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ “

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m limited…as a human being, I’m limited mentally and physically of what I can do. As a fallen sinner, I’m very limited spiritually and morally to do what I should. So here I sit, immersed in my weakness, when God, leans over and whispers, “But what I want to do through you can only be achieved, and carried through to perfection in that weakness. Otherwise, you’d think it was you doing it, and not Me completing it through you.”

Psalm 112: 7-8 ” He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is secure, he will have no fear, in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.”

Bad things happen to good people everyday. In varying degrees of severity, we all face challenges… unpleasant, sad, harmful, chaotic things, that affect our lives and the lives of loved ones around us. But the point of this Psalm is – whose report are you going to believe…the world’s or the Lord’s? When our eyes are fixed firmly on the Lord, our confidence and reliance can not be shaken…we can’t be intimidated by the circumstances we find ourselves in, for our heart is secure in the Lord.

Romans 2:1 ” You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.”

We judge others daily, without even thinking about it. We causally judge and condemn others as we walk down the street, or stand with a group of friends. Judging others is a way to make us feel better about ourselves, but at what price? If we judge harshly, we too will be judged harshly…but if we relinquish that selfish need to elevate ourselves before others, we may start seeing people through the eyes of Jesus.

Romans 1:12 ” That is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each others faith.”

I’d love to hear how the Lord is working in your life…how He’s answered prayer, or provided in a time of need, or blessed you in an unexpected way. We all need to share these faith-building moments with each other, for by them, faith rises, confidence grows, and as a group, we are all urged forward in Christ.

Isaiah 33:18 ” In your thoughts you will ponder the former terror.”

Our thought-life is a by-product of everything we’ve ever seen, heard, and experienced. Our thoughts are also influenced by things we’ve read, watched, and listened to. Our mind loves to take all those scary, gory, horrible things and spin them into fear…even if there’s nothing to be afraid of. A certain sound, smell, or sight can set our thoughts reeling with terror…and panic can take over, totally overwhelming and immobilizing us. That’s when we must take authority, in Jesus name, over our thoughts…reining them back in and gaining control over unfounded fear.

Colossians 1:9 ” For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His Will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.”

The Lord wants to complete His Will in your life. His good pleasure to accomplish this is through the gifts of spiritual insight and comprehension. As Paul did, I too pray a Spirit of wisdom and revelation into you today…that you may perceive His perfect Will for your life.”

Micah 7:8 ” Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.”

When those times come of profound sorrow, grief, and heartache, the darkness will shroud even the slightest glimmer of light from our sight. That’s when we, as the body of Believers, must support and under-gird our brothers and sisters…gently leading them from darkness into light. We need to stand in the gap for them, until they can again stand on their own.

Psalm 19:9 ” The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous.”

Stand in awe of God today. Look around you…contemplate your surroundings. Draw in a deep breath and consider what He has made. The inspiration and wonder of everything around you is from His hand. Stand in awe of God.

Psalm 19:8 ” The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.”

God’s principles are right and just…for the Believer, they are not a burden, but rather a joy to follow. There is a sense of security and comfort found there…for within them, we find spiritual illumination and enlightenment.

Psalm 19:7 ” The Law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.”

The Law of the Lord is faultless and complete. And by walking in it, we are not only infused with new life within, but we gain insight and perception to do what is right in our daily walk.
