For many, this day is not filled with happiness. Discouragement and fatigue may be stealing all your joy…Physical ailments may be robbing you of delighting in the Lord at all. You may be even saying to yourself, “I have nothing to be joyful about today.” But the feelings of joy, happiness, and delight are just that…human feelings. You don’t have to feel joyful in order to be filled with God’s strength. For joy comes from that all-encompassing assurance that God is there… even if your rejoicing is only by determination and through tears.

John 11:40 ” Then Jesus said, ‘Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?’ “
Faith is not common sense…and common sense is not faith. The two are about as far apart as our natural life is from our spiritual life. Our human logic will get us into trouble every time we look at God…for we want to put God into a tidy little box, but it just doesn’t work that way. Faith in God, is seeing the situation through His eyes, and not ours…it’s trusting God when our human reasoning has all but given up…it’s believing when there’s nothing else left to do.
Ephesians 4: 23-24 ” To be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”
To clothe ourselves with Christ Jesus is to change our mindset…to alter every thought and action through a “God-like” filter. ” We have taken off our old self and put on the new self which is being renewed.” (Colossians 3:10) The point being, that this transformation process in our new self…our Christ-like self…is ongoing, ever evolving, ever growing as we pursue a right standing with God.
Ephesians 2:14 ” For He Himself is our peace.”
This precious promise is for you today. A promise that will never be withdrawn…a lasting promise brought about by God’s infinite mercy for you. In John 14:27 our Lord states, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you.” You have been bestowed with peace from Jesus Himself…receive this peace He offers you today.
Ecclesiastes 11:5 ” As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.”
All we have to do is take a moment to look around us to understand just how little we know. Modern technology may have taken us far from what our Great-Grandparents knew…but yet, we still only grasp a small fragment of the wonder that is God. We humans think we’ve made such great strides…but still remain baffled by simple acts of nature. The Mighty Creator of the Universe – God – is just too great and wonderful to be understood by our tiny minds.
Psalm 9:1 ” I will praise You, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders.”
When was the last time you did just that?… When was the last time you told someone what the Lord’s been doing in your life? It encourages all those around you when you testify to the mighty deeds and miracles God has done in and through you. We all need to hear and be inspired by each other’s victories and thanksgivings. So, don’t keep them to yourself…tell someone today what God’s been up to in your life.
Acts 4:32 ” All the Believers were one in heart and mind.”
No matter where you live…no matter who you are, your nationality, color or race…if you have taken the name Christian as your own…we are all one. We are all under Christ Jesus in total unity – unanimous in our love, wishes, and desires for each other. We are bound together across these vast miles by one thing…the blood of our Savior and His great love for us.
Isaiah 6: 8 ” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘ Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’ “
To be a prophet is a calling…to minister in prophecy is a gift. A wonderful gift that God bestows on a chosen group of Believers to guide and encourage the flock. When the Lord calls you…you receive your identity. When you receive your gifting…you receive your ability. And when you receive the anointing…you receive your purpose.
Romans 9: 31-32 ” …but Israel, who pursued a Law of righteousness, has not attained it. Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.”
We like to take the commandments from God and embellish them…piling on things that were never given in the first place. Then if we can only keep this long list of “don’t does”, we can somehow “work” our way to heaven. But this will never happen, and we will fail spiritually…our eyes on our works, and off of Jesus.
Isaiah 51:6 ” Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But My salvation will last forever, My righteousness will never fail.”
All things as we know it will end someday, but the Almighty Lord is without beginning or end. His deliverance of us from the guilt and punishment of sin will always stand firm…His Word is eternal and everlasting…the Lord will always remain.
