With maturity in the Lord comes new boldness and confidence. A strong Christian walk seasons and prepares us so that when fear threatens, we can face it without anxiety and insecurity. The time is now to face that fear head on…don’t allow it to control and dominate your life…for that fear causes you to forfeit your peace and wellbeing.

Luke 5:16 ” But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”
It’s not that Jesus was anti-social or hated the crowds that pressed in all the time around Him…for He loved people. But He did require Father-Son time, and searching out solitary places to pray was essential for His wellbeing. When we’re alone by our self in the silence – we shut out the noise of the world…we gain God’s perspective…we hear clearly from the Holy Spirit. It was essential for Jesus…it’s no different for you.
Galatians 4:9 ” But now that you know God – or rather are known by God…”
To know God is a journey that takes a lifetime…each day drawing nearer and receiving more. But the true miracle is being known by Him. For there will come a day when we all must stand before the Lord… either to be recognized and acknowledged or rejected.
Psalm 46:10 ” Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Though the Lord is too great to be fully understood, knowing Him to the very best of our ability is key in our relationship with Him. For like any loving, intimate relationship…we should do less talking, and more listening.
Psalm 90: 17 ” May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us – Yes, establish the work of our hands.”
When you have favor of God…His kindness, delight, and support in all situations, you will receive something else. Because God’s favor rests on you, you will also have favor before men. And there’s nothing more powerful than to find favor before God and man.
II Corinthians 6:16 ” For we are the Temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘ I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.”
Life from whom all living things derive their viability and existence only comes from the Lord above. And as the Body of Believers, we not only receive life and breath from the Father, but we also are given the Holy Spirit to reside within us.
Isaiah 55:11 ” So is My Word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
Every letter, word, and commandment of the Lord is divine revelation…His creative activity at work…active and alive. Not one bit is worthless, trivial or futile in its nature. Every Word from God will go forth, carrying out and realizing the specific intent, mission and goal it was designed to do.
Jeremiah 29:13 ” You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
God wants the best of you…not the leftover dregs. He wants your total heart, mind, and soul in pursuit of His will for your life. That means setting aside a time daily to be in His Word and pray…whether that means early in the morning, over the lunch hour, or in the evening when the house quiets down. Don’t squeeze God into your schedule…but rather work your schedule around Him and the things that have eternal consequences.
Proverbs 6:23 ” For these commands are a lamp, this teaching is a light, and the corrections of discipline are the way to life.”
We all want long life, health, and prosperity…but what does it take to achieve these things? This verse states that we need to first accept instruction and discipline from the Lord, and then allow it to be assimilated and incorporated into every part of our life…and into every action and behavior .
I Timothy 4:7-8 “Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. For godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”
Paul was spurring Timothy on to develop exemplary habits, thoughts, and behaviors… And this would also hold true for us today. For it’s by discipline and instruction that we become the person God wants us to become. And in the end, we will reap the benefit of blessings in this present life and eternal life to come.
