Isaiah 33:18 ” In your thoughts you will ponder the former terror.”

Our thought-life is a by-product of everything we’ve ever seen, heard, and experienced. Our thoughts are also influenced by things we’ve read, watched, and listened to. Our mind loves to take all those scary, gory, horrible things and spin them into fear…even if there’s nothing to be afraid of. A certain sound, smell, or sight can set our thoughts reeling with terror…and panic can take over, totally overwhelming and immobilizing us. That’s when we must take authority, in Jesus name, over our thoughts…reining them back in and gaining control over unfounded fear.

Colossians 1:10 ” And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.”

Our endeavor in life should be to please our Heavenly Father. Every word and deed should go through the “God” filter first. Is this something God would approve of? Would the Lord be happy with me if I said or did this? In the end, we daily attempt to live a life worthy of the calling we have received. (Eph. 4:1)

Colossians 1:9 ” For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His Will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.”

The Lord wants to complete His Will in your life. His good pleasure to accomplish this is through the gifts of spiritual insight and comprehension. As Paul did, I too pray a Spirit of wisdom and revelation into you today…that you may perceive His perfect Will for your life.”

Mark 9:23 ” Everything is possible for him who believes.”

To the outside world, trusting in Jesus Christ is just plain crazy. To many people, placing your faith in the Gospel is ludicrous. But to the Believer…hope is forged, one faith-building miracle at a time. The world may shake its head in scorn at your trust…but belief in Jesus will never disappoint.

Micah 7:8 ” Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.”

When those times come of profound sorrow, grief, and heartache, the darkness will shroud even the slightest glimmer of light from our sight. That’s when we, as the body of Believers, must support and under-gird our brothers and sisters…gently leading them from darkness into light. We need to stand in the gap for them, until they can again stand on their own.

Psalm 19:8 ” The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.”

God’s principles are right and just…for the Believer, they are not a burden, but rather a joy to follow. There is a sense of security and comfort found there…for within them, we find spiritual illumination and enlightenment.

Nehemiah 8:10 “…for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

For many, this day is not filled with happiness. Discouragement and fatigue may be stealing all your joy…Physical ailments may be robbing you of delighting in the Lord at all. You may be even saying to yourself, “I have nothing to be joyful about today.” But the feelings of joy, happiness, and delight are just that…human feelings. You don’t have to feel joyful in order to be filled with God’s strength. For joy comes from that all-encompassing assurance that God is there… even if your rejoicing is only by determination and through tears.

Ephesians 2:14 ” For He Himself is our peace.”

This precious promise is for you today. A promise that will never be withdrawn…a lasting promise brought about by God’s infinite mercy for you. In John 14:27 our Lord states, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you.” You have been bestowed with peace from Jesus Himself…receive this peace He offers you today.

I John 5: 14-15 ” This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His Will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we ask of Him.”

Boldness in prayer – It comes from having a close communion with your Heavenly Father…of knowing His heart and desiring His best for your life. That’s what asking according to His Will is all about…it’s requesting the Lord’s good pleasure in your life, rather than any whim that comes to mind. So when we pray God’s Will into our life, we know that He not only hears the request, but will answer with the very best for us.

Ecclesiastes 11:5 ” As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.”

All we have to do is take a moment to look around us to understand just how little we know. Modern technology may have taken us far from what our Great-Grandparents knew…but yet, we still only grasp a small fragment of the wonder that is God. We humans think we’ve made such great strides…but still remain baffled by simple acts of nature. The Mighty Creator of the Universe – God – is just too great and wonderful to be understood by our tiny minds.
