Mark 4: 26-29 ” He also said, ‘This is what the Kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed spouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces the grain – first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.’ “

The Kingdom of God is within the human heart, and just like the Spring soil, the seed is planted and grows.  We may not totally understand how both happen…but by faith and trust we have this assurance…that our personal relationship with Jesus will grow within us, just like the  life found inside that seed.

John 7:37 ” Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.”

When Jesus stood, He did so without bias or partiality towards any certain people group.  When He spoke, it wasn’t directed  to only a select few.  Jesus showed  no favoritism, bigotry, or chauvinism as He invited all to accept the free gift of eternal life.  And that invitation still stands today to every man, woman, and child across this wide world. There is no barrier left  that can  prevent you from receiving this gift offered by a loving Savior.

I John 2:17 ” The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.”

All the world’s affections and fascinations will not last…they are here but a day and then gone.  The only thing that remains…the only true thing we can base our life and faith around is the person of Jesus Christ.  For it’s by Him and Him alone that we might be saved.

Mark 10: 24-25 ” But Jesus said again, ‘Children, how hard it is to enter the Kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.’ “

Jesus gave an exaggerated comparison of  attempting to squeeze a huge camel through the tiny eye of a needle…it’s almost impossible to do.  But then He took it one step  farther,  comparing it to those who put their trust in riches rather than the living God…their chances of making it to heaven were just about as slim. So I ask  you today – where do  you base your trust?

I Kings 8:27 ” But will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain You. How much less this temple I have built! “

This verse is part of King Solomon’s Prayer of Dedication for the temple he had built for the Lord.  He doubted that the Most High would live in something made by mortal men…for God’s magnificence  can’t be limited by time and space.  While the Lord may not be able to fit inside a building…you’ll find  He fits just perfectly inside your heart.

John 16:33 ” But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Jesus proclaimed this not only to those He was speaking to at the time, but to us now, today.  Jesus has already done the work…the devil has been defeated…we don’t have to allow fear, doubt, and hopelessness to govern our lives.  So the next time doubt and fear hits…take a deep breath, and in the space of that breath…pray,  ” Lord, I know You’re here, and I know we can face this together.  Give me courage to move forward  and to not give up. Amen.”       For I know with God  we are more than a overcomers.

Isaiah 9:6 ” For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Jesus the Messiah has come to earth for you and me this Christmas Day. He offers mercy and love, peace and comfort, salvation and eternal life in place of the pain, loss, and hopelessness that may be in your life today.  Allow Him to come into your life and change you from the inside out…taking all the negatives and transforming them into hope for the future. A Blessed Christmas to all of you!

Isaiah 60: 3 ” Nations will come to Your light, and Kings to the brightness of Your dawn.”

The Magi traveled from afar…following the brightest star in the constellation they had ever witnessed.  They knew  that at the end of their journey they would find Him…the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  And even today men still seek Him…Jesus Messiah.

Luke 2:4 ” So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.

Caesar Augustus had decreed a census of the entire Roman world…and so everyone had to travel to their home town to register.  If it hadn’t been for that, Joseph probably wouldn’t have subjected his very pregnant wife, Mary, to the long, hard journey on bumpy roads.  But God used a godless Roman King to fulfill His ultimate purpose  and plan.  What we see as just common, ordinary, unrelated threads in our life, God is using to weave a tapestry of unbelievable beauty according to His will.

Luke 1: 26-27 ” In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.”

The fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy came to pass in the small town of Nazareth…to a young girl named Mary.   This miraculous conception was wonderfully accomplished by the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit.  A tiny baby born of man, but born also of God…perfectly holy, yet  sharing in our humanity.
