The world scoffs at the Cross and all it stands for. They don’t see their fate rooted in the ruination of their soul eternally…instead they only see the momentary gratification of the flesh and the 15 minutes of fame they try to possess.

Philippians 4:19 ” And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”
Our Lord will supply every neccessity…in all things, at all times, giving all that we need. But where we have difficulties in this verse, is in the difference between needing something, and just wanting it…We may have a hard time delineating between the two, but God in His infinite knowledge knows exactly what we need, and what is only a carnal desire. In the end, it’s the Lord in His kindness,tolerance, and patience who decides what’s the very best for us.
Psalm 103:11 ” For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him.”
You may not be too willing to admit that you have one in your house…most times they are messy, unorganized, and a catch-all for everything that has no specific place to go…I’m talking about a junk drawer. Oh, what things we can find in the back of that drawer! Every cast-off, odd, or thing without a place will end up there for lack of anywhere else to put it. Sometimes we too can feel like we’ve been thrown in the world’s junk drawer… we don’t fit in the perfect, usual or customary places… so we’re judged because of our oddity, eccentricity, or peculiarity…and then delegated to junk drawer status. But, God has no junk drawer to throw us in because we may not “fit in”. His love for us is unfathomable as to how wide and long and high and deep it is towards us. In His eyes, we will always be worthy of a place of honor, rather than in the back of that drawer.
Psalm 31: 7 ” I will be glad and rejoice in Your love, for You saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul.”
Psalm 31, for anyone who has gone, or is going through traumatic times, is one of the greatest Psalms to read outloud…back to the Lord. You can voice it through tears, you can express it with anger, you can utter it in total dispair…but regardless of how you verbalize it, God not only is listening to you, but He understands, and knows intimately what you are going through. He has heard your cry for mercy when you called…”Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.”
Romans 3:23 ” There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
We are all in the same leaky boat…there is not one person that has a right standing with God. We have all missed the mark in our relationship with Him. And as a result of this short falling, we have sadly turned our backs on Him and the blessings we could have.
Revelation 3:20 ” Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me.”
The time is now, the Lord is there persistently tapping at the door to your heart. He desires to come in and begin a close relationship with you. Do you hear His still, small voice calling your name…but more importantly, will you respond by opening the door to your heart and allowing Him to come in? The Lord is at all times a gentleman…He will not bash down the door, but rather will wait patiently for you to answer…is today the day you will?
Philippians 4:13 ” I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”
The Lord enables us to endure, sustain and effectively handle any thing and/or situation we are thrust into. He will strengthen our feebleness and calm all fears. This scripture is a proclamation of what we are able to accomplish through Him.
YOU are able to do ALL THINGS by His power that lives in YOU and who gives YOU strength. Through Him there is nothing YOU can not do!
Isaiah 1:18 “…Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow…”
Snow. We get lots of it here in Idaho, and there’s nothing as beautiful as the sun shining on a new snowfall. Everything is covered with a pristine, white blanket..the dull, drab landscape is transformed into a glorious magnificence. Isaiah wrote that ‘though our sins were like scarlet, they will be white as snow.’ Our sinful life can be transformed by God’s love and mercy. His love can cover our grubby, dirty past with a perfect blanket of white. When snow falls it covers everything…it doesn’t pick and choose where it lands…the same with our Lord…His love and mercy is for everyone, forever changing our lives with a beautiful white blanket of forgiveness.
Ephesians 3:17-19 “…and I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have the power together with all saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
I don’t believe we can even start to comprehend the love of God…it transcends all understanding. But if Jesus is dwelling in our hearts, that love is already established in us through Him. And what is well rooted will flourish and grow. So while we may never be able to fully grasp the depth of His love for us, we will be made complete in it.
