Jeremiah 31:13 ” I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.”

Most of us have a hard time expressing our condolences to a friend that’s just lost a loved one.  We stumble around, trying hard to say something that will bring comfort.  But it’s only the Lord that can truly bring solace and peace during a time of anguish and mental pain.  Probably one of the most uncaring things to say is, “I know how you feel.”   No you don’t, and you never will.  Grief and grieving is unique to everyone, and all of us will go through it differently.  But with the Lord’s help, grief will be soothed…  fears will be quieted… peace will still frantic thoughts…and over time,  joy will return.

Isaiah 26:12 ” Lord, You establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished You have done for us.”

Make no mistake about it…as a Believer, the deep sense of well-being you feel today has been brought about by a loving and merciful Heavenly Father.  And the next time before you pat yourself on the back for the great achievement you’ve just done…remember,  that  it’s only through Him that you’ve realized this success.

II Thessalonians 3:16 ” Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”

Romans 2:4 says that He is the “God of peace.”  Do you need peace in your life today?  Have the worries, anxieties, and troubles of the world crowded into your mind and caused unrest and turmoil?   Why deny yourself of God’s kindness and mercy…why deny yourself of His peace?

Isaiah 54:10 ” ‘Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed,’ says the Lord , Who has compassion on you.”

With out warning,  stressful and frightening things happen. We’re pushed along by the tidal wave of raw emotions…trying simply to survive the moment.  But this verse wants us to know that regardless of the circumstances, God is still there…His kindness, and mercy will never abandon us.

John 4: 13-14 ” Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst again. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

We hear and accept the Word of life…the Holy Spirit comes to take up residence within, and we have the reassurance of eternal life.  But we also overflow with that living water, for it says in John 7:38, “Whoever believes in Me, streams of living water will flow from within him.”  Our lives spill over with joy, peace and love for others to see.
