Psalm 37: 18-19 ” The days of the blameless are known to the Lord, and their inheritance will endure forever. In times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.”

Though  I don’t understand what’s going on right now…God does.  So for my part I must trust in His promises even when circumstances and events around me become frightening and confusing.  I must also perverse with confidence that God is  working in my life… even when all I feel is drained and worthless.  I may never fully understand the reason for this pandemic… but God knows… and so I will trust Him.

Psalm 37: 18-19 ” The days of the blameless are known to the Lord, and their inheritance will endure forever. In times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.”

God knows us better than we know ourselves.  He knows the secrets of my heart,(Psalm 44:21) and the way that I take.(Job 23:10)  There isn’t one detail about us that catches God by surprise.  For every one of our days here on earth are numbered and known by Him intimately. And as we walk in right standing before Him…even if troubles and hardships come…it tells us here,  God will bless the impossible and grant mercy to the hopeless.

I Samuel 16:7 ” The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Over the course of my career in Health Care Administration I have interviewed many people for positions I needed filled.  Many times I would size up the applicant in just a few minutes…looking at how they came dressed for the interview, or how they conducted themselves, etc.  But I learned early on that my immediate perception of the person was often flawed.  For it wasn’t until I could discern their hearts…their passion for caring for others, that I could then make an accurate decision about employment.  I am so thankful that God looks beyond my outward appearance and searches my heart…not looking at the superficial me but rather at my inner most being.  For God knows my heart and its secrets, (Psalm 44:21) and still loves me.  And for that, I will put my hope and trust in Him.
