Jesus Christ came to earth and died on the Cross to fulfill the demands of the Law. He freed us from the impossible observances of those Laws…giving us instead His perfect Law that offers freedom from sin and guilt. For anyone who puts their faith and trust in Jesus…the old Law-keeping vanishes, as the new covenant is activated in their heart.

Psalm 107:21 ” Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men.”
The Lord loves to bless you in small gestures that only you would recognize. Little blessings are a way that God shows you just how special you are to Him, and that He too cares about ever aspect of your life. These unexpected little blessings should come as no surprise though…for God’s kindness and mercy is unending towards you…His love for you is unmeasurable…His desire to give you good gifts is part of His being.
I Kings 8:23 ” O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven above or on earth below – You Who keep Your covenant of love with Your servants who continue wholeheartedly in Your way.”
He’s a promise keeping God. If He’s said it…He’ll do it. He’s also a faithful and trustworthy God…He will never go back on His promises. Have you trusted Him for something lately? Not just saying it, but really standing on His Word and believing? That kind of faith building strengthens our walk and allows us to rely on Him more. And as we come to rely on Him more, our love for Him grows, and so does our trust.
Psalm 145: 13 “…the Lord is faithful to all His promises.”
There’s no one else we can trust…no one else that we can believe in . For it says in Joshua 23:14, ” God is faithful, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commands.” We then can stand firmly on that promise…for God keeps His word.
Hebrews 10: 39 ” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.”
The scripture today is a continuation of the thought from yesterday…a encouraging thought for all of us… that we are stronger than we think, braver than we can ever imagine, and only need to trust the Lord in order to succeed. We are exhorted here that we are not of those who shrink back, but rather have faith. For what hangs in the balance is simple…eternal life, or eternal damnation.
Hebrews 10:36 ” You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.”
I’ll be the first to admit…I’m not a patient person. But patience is exactly what God wants from me. He asks that I steadfastly pray for unsaved loved ones…even if I don’t see change. He asks that I not give up on dreams He’s given me…even if it’s been years. God only asks that I be patient in my faith…unwavering in my trust of Him, as He works towards His divine purpose in my life. For if you think about it, it’s very little He’s asking.
Galatians 6:7 ” Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. “
Have you ever been mocked for your faith? Maybe it was something general like, “It’s only the weak that need religion.” Or maybe it was pointed like, ” You’re stupid to think that there’s a God!” Either way, when someone ridicules and laughs at our belief in God, they’re treating our precious Lord with contempt. So stand strong when you’re scoffed at for your beliefs… don’t be tempted to compromise or cave in when poked fun at, for God’s shoulders are very broad and He can take the taunts. And besides, as this verse reveals, He can and will not be mocked.
II Corinthians 5:7 ” We live by faith, not by sight…”
When God is seemingly hidden…when He’s working behind the scenes and not in obvious ways for you, what do you do? Do you walk and seek Him with faith or cower in fear? Is it with trust that you face down the challenge, or is it with trepidation? Despite the fact you may not see God working, do you move ahead with confidence and certainty, or draw back with concern? A lot of our Christian walk has to be done by the determination of sheer faith…faith that God’s still there…and still in control.
Romans 1:11-12 ” I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong – that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.”
There’s no way around it…we all need to be around fellow Believers. There’s nothing like being with like-minded Christians…sharing, listening, and bearing each others burdens in prayer. All of us need encouragement and our faith strengthened by interacting with other Believers…we all need to hear how God is moving in other’s lives. As it says in Proverbs 27:17, ” As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Think of it…something the Lord has brought you through is exactly what someone needs to hear today.
John 1:12 ” Yet to all who received Him, to those who believe in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”
As a Christian, we have the birthright and authority as children of our Heavenly Father. We have identified and embraced the name above all – Jesus Christ…for it is only by His name we can be saved. Thus as joint heirs, we are beneficiaries of the glorious riches and splendor of heaven.
