Ezekiel 8: 12 ” He said to me,’son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol? ‘ They say, ‘The Lord does not see us; the Lord has forsaken the land.’ “

Why do we humans think that just because we can’t see in the dark, God can’t either? In this blackness of spiritual blindness we arrogantly think that not only can’t God see us, but that He can’t perceive that we’re doing. These shrines of ours are many…addictions of all kinds top the list. You’ve probably heard someone say-“What I do in the privacy of my own home is my business.” Or that “I’m not hurting anyone by what I’m doing.” But indirectly others are being hurt with the idol we worship in the dark. Children are deprived of their parents by the shrine of drugs and alcohol. Wifes lose their husbands to the idol of pornography. They are the innocent victims of our pride that thinks God can’t judge through such darkness.

  1. Thanks for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research about this. We got a grab a book from our area library but I think I learned more clear from this post. I’m very glad to see such wonderful information being shared freely out there.
