Psalm 129:1-4 ” They have greatly oppressed me from my youth – let Israel say – they have greatly oppressed me from my youth, but they have not gained the victory over me. Plowmen have plowed my back and made their furrows long. But the Lord is righteous; He has cut me free from the cords of the wicked.”

The world is full of oppression…of a unjust and cruel exercise of power and authority in many nations. But to the Believer there is always hope beyond the current situation of ruthless suffering they are forced to endure. For the wicked will not prevail…even when the pain becomes physical. That’s because the Lord is righteous and for us, or as Psalm 124:2 states, “If the Lord hadn’t been on our side when men attacked us, they would of swallowed us alive.” Believers will continue to be greatly oppressed… as long as they claim Jesus Christ as their Savior…but they will also remain confident in their hope…”For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.” (Psalm 37:9)
