Acts 5:17-19 ” Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail. But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. ‘Go, stand in the Temple Courts,’ he said, ‘and tell the people the full message of this new life.’ “

After the death and resurrection of Jesus, the Jewish religious sect redirected their anger to His followers, the apostles. And why not, they were daily out in public preaching and teaching the Gospel Message to the crowds. So it’s no wonder they wanted them silenced. But it’s very curious what the angel told them to do. Rather than telling them to run and hide, the angel instructed them to go back into the Temple Courts, proclaiming the word of the Lord. But why? The apostles had just been miraculously freed by an angel…a faith-building experience for anyone going through it. For not only were they emboldened by the event, but bolstered with confidence that the Lord was truly with them.
