Job 6: 2-3 ” If only my anguish could be weighed and all my misery be placed on the scales! It would surely outweigh the sand of the seas – no wonder my words have been impetuous.”

These verses carry a vivid mental picture of a scale with all my grief, misery, and burdens on one side, and all the sand of the earth on the other…with my anguish tipping the scales in its favor. For pain, either physical, mental, or emotional does sometimes feel like a tremendously hard, heavy load, crushing down on me…making it difficult to even move or breath. But God understands, even when in my groaning, sadness, and complaining I too become impetuous like Job. For He listens, comforts, and will not turn me away….He hears all my protests patiently, loves me despite all my shortcomings, and will never leave me alone.
