Luke 8:16 ” No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.”

The whole purpose of lighting a lamp is that it may give light. God’s Truth is that light in the life of Believers…thus, as His faithful, we are to be openly living & sharing His light to the world. In Matthew 5:14-15, Jesus urges all Believers to, “Let your light shine.” This is because Jesus is the light of the world (John 1:9 & 8:12), and His light now shines through us, His Church. (I John 1:8-10) Therefore, the ultimate plan and purpose of Jesus’ Ministry here on earth was not to conceal God’s light, but to display it to all. (Mark 4:21-22) And as members of His Church, we are then to let His light shine through us.
