The longer our journey with the Lord, the more we treasure the abiding peace that only we can experience when we’re alone with Him. Across the Gospels we see Jesus making a deliberate effort to get off by Himself to pray. This habit of withdrawing to solitary places wasn’t just a personal practice…it was central to His mission, spiritual life and an living example for His disciples. It was there that Jesus could give His undivided attention to His Heavenly Father…away from the noisy crowds…and ensuring that His ministry was aligned with God rather than public pressure. This private time renewed Jesus physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It also modeled to the disciples (and us) the need for personal time with God. It wasn’t escape from the crowds, but rather obedience that drew Him away…enabling Jesus to come back renewed in strength, clarity, and alignment with God’s eternal plan and purpose.
