I Peter 3:9 ” But on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.”

I don’t know who it was, but some neighbor retrieved the trash can from the street and placed it next to the garage door this morning. My very first response when I saw it was, “They didn’t have to do that!” But this verse in I Peter is very plain…we are to offer good, kind, and uplifting blessings to others… and in turn we are blessed in the process. But for many of us, being on the receiving end feels awkward…for we’d rather be the one blessing others. Nevertheless, don’t turn their good intentions into an uncomfortable moment. Receive the blessing with thankfulness, humility, and appreciation. For if you think about it, all blessings, whether from others or God are gifts to help us grow.
