Zechariah 11:12 ” I told them, ‘If you think it best, give me my pay; but if not, keep it.’ So they paid me thirty pieces of silver.”

When Judas approached the High Priests offering to betray Jesus for them…He basically asked them, “What’s it worth to you?”  In observance of the Law,  which stated in Exodus 21:32, “If the bull gores a male or female slave, the owner must pay thirty shekels of silver to the master of the slave.”…the High Priests counted out thirty pieces of silver…considering Jesus no more important than a slave.

Zechariah 9:9 ” Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your King comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. “

The Prophet Zechariah spoke of the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem that Palm Sunday…right down to the details of what He’d be riding.  And when the crowds saw Jesus, they laid their clothes on the road before Him and waved palm branches, shouting “Hosanna!”   The Prophet Isaiah echoed this prophetic word in Isaiah 62:11, “The Lord has made proclamation to the ends of the earth: ‘Say to the Daughter of Zion,  See, your Savior comes!’ ”  The Word ties this all together as we look at the Hebrew word for salvation which is Yasa.  The name Jesus is derived from this root word.  The word “Hosanna” that the crowds were shouting is also directly traceable to the word Yasa.  That Palm Sunday,  Jesus may have entered Jerusalem seemingly as a meek and mild man…but who really rode in was the King of Kings and Lord of Lords…our Messiah and the Savior of our soul.

Zechariah 10:1 ” Ask the Lord for rain in the Springtime; it is the Lord who makes the storm clouds. He gives showers of rain to men, and plants of the field to everyone.”

What are you asking the Lord for today?  Are you tempering your request based on your limited vision and emotional involvement or by God’s limitless vision and His desire to fulfill your  petition according to His will?  Ephesians 3:20 tells us, “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…”  When you ask the Lord for something…don’t limit Him…for we cannot start to  mentally grasp all He can do and set into motion at His disposable.   Instead,  pray His vision into the situation…and then stand back and watch what miracles  God will do.

Zechariah 1:3 ” ‘Return to Me’, declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you’…”

Job 22:23 says, “If you return to the Almighty you will be restored.”  The responsibility lies on our shoulders…the decision, squarely on us.  For only we can resolve to turn around and come back to the Lord.  God’s position has never changed…it’s us that have wandered so far away.  But if we only turn our hearts back to Him, He will restore and rebuild our lives that are in shambles.

I Corinthians 1: 27-29 ” But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things – and the things that are not – to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before Him.”

God is in control…His choices explicitly and precisely are done to direct the course of redemptive history.  He takes the simple-minded, the humble, the frail,  and transforms them by the Holy Spirit into mighty men and women of God.  For it is not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord Almighty in Zechariah 4:6.   Under His anointing, the powerless become strong…the lowly and scorned become bold.  Never underestimate what the Lord can do through you…never underrate the glory and honor  you can give Him  by simple obedience.
