Now don’t get me wrong, I love the valuable and longstanding rituals of the Body of Christ…the Church. These observances hold deep personal and corporate meaning to the Believer. But God makes it very clear here, when these rituals are not done out of genuine repentance and faith…He doesn’t want them. That’s because, as Jeremiah 4:22 warns, these rituals can just become a habit if there’s no self-reflection and change. The point is…rituals are of no value to God without faith and obedience. (Isaiah 1:11 & Psalm 40:6)
