The early Christian Church was united in heart and soul. This collective Body shared time, worship, prayer and learning…but most importantly, they shared resources generously. They couldn’t help but spent that much time together and not become conscious of the needs within the Church…and they did something about it, not just turn a blind eye to it. Which showed not just deep relationships within the early Church, but a practicality to the needs of others in daily life. It also tells us in Acts 2:44 that it was voluntary not mandated. And to be sure, this Christ-like lifestyle didn’t go unnoticed by the outside community…who saw their love, generosity, and mutual care one to another…and this was how the early Church grew.
