Exodus 14:13 ” The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Sometimes the very hardest thing God can ask us to do… is nothing. Not to try and fix it… try and force it… or just flee from it, but rather to stand still. In Luke 21:19, Jesus said, “By standing firm you will gain life.” So why is standing still so hard to do? Standing firm with patient endurance is anything but apathetic disregard for what’s happening. Quite the opposite! We want to get our hands in there and “help” God, (like He doesn’t know what’s going on.) But this is the exact reason He tells us to, “Stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you.” (II Chronicles 20:17) For its when we stand firm in the faith, putting our trust in Him, that God’s plan and purpose will prevail.
