I Corinthians 6:20, “You were bought at a price.” That’s what redemption means, and Jesus came to give His life as a ransom for you…that’s how precious you are in His sight. For we can’t redeem our own life, let alone the lives of others…for only in Him do we have redemption through His blood shed at the Cross on our behalf. (Ephesians 1:7) Today, you may think your life is of no value…you may not feel cherished or loved by anyone…But God doesn’t feel that way about you! For if you were the only person on the face of the earth, He would have still sent His Son, Jesus, to die for your sins…You are that precious to Him.

John 1:14 ” The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
If we read through the first chapter of John we’ll discover it’s the only Gospel that speaks of Jesus Christ’s eternal existence rather than just the time He spent on earth. This verse especially can be difficult to comprehend…for it tells us that the majesty and power behind all things came to earth… willingly becoming a man of flesh and blood … taking on human nature…thus subject to all human feelings, emotions, suffering and mortality. God the Father sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem mankind from the bondage of sin and death…to take our place and thus bridge the gap between a holy God and a sinful world. And it is only through Him that we can have eternal life, for Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Isaiah 45:22 ” Turn to Me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.”
Come back to Me, says the Lord. Isaiah 44:22 says, “Return to Me, for I have redeemed you”. The Lord Jesus Christ is our Kinsman Redeemer…our Savior, and redeemer of our souls.
Hebrews 9:12 ” He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.”
You have been redeemed! Your debt of sin has been cleared off the books forever…your freedom purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ. But Jesus didn’t have to die over and over a multitude of times to atone for your sins… rather, He came and gave His life once for all in order that you may have eternal life. Yes, you have been redeemed!
