“To trust God in the light is nothing. But to trust Him in the dark – that is faith.” Charles Spurgeon

In Psalm 56 we see David fleeing from King Saul only to be captured by the Philistines. In this very dark time of his life, David chose faith over fear…putting his confidence in God rather than his circumstances. Verse 3 sums this up well, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” For when we choose to trust God in the dark there is protection, comfort, and assurance from Him that He not only sees us, but that our prayers will be a comfort and a refuge during those dark times. And as we trust Him in the dark, God will give us courage and strength to face the challenges ahead.
